ATTN ALL FRESHMEN
CALLING ALL FRESHMEN!! This is one of the LAST FEW WEEKS to sign up for the most happening, action packed camp in the whole of NUS!!! WE ARE CLOSING REGISTRATION VERY VERY SOON!! Don't let us fool you with our words, look at the pictures and videos below to convince yourself that our camp is THE BEST CAMP EVER! Don't regret not signing up for it later on as this camp is going to be FANTASTIC! Don't be afraid of signing up alone! You get to try soo so OH SO many different kind of sports that you never dreamt about playing before! Not just any type of Sports, but extremely fun sports such as ZOVB etc!! Other than Sports, there is night cycling, mass dance, amazing race AND SO MUCH MORE! The only NUS camp that is ALWAYS OUT OF NUS!!!!! Look at what our past freshmen/current councillors has to say : "I attended two camps last year when I was a freshmen but I did not attend Sports Camp. It was never in my mind to join Sports Camp as I thought the camp would emphasized too much on sports and not the fun of sports. Also I was thinking who in their right mind would want to sign up for Sports Camp?!?! Also I did not want to sign up alone, many of my friends said Sports Camp sounds too sporty for their taste. It was only when I met one of my faculty friend named XXX. She constantly talked about how fun the camp was and she was always meeting and hanging out with her new sports camp friend. Overall I was pretty jealous as I never had that bond with my other OG mates in the other camp! It is quite rare to be so close with your OG mates and that was why I told mysel I MUST JOIN SPORTS CAMP this year, and all I can say is that I'm having the best time of my life!" - Louisa Lin, Business Queen 2009, Blue house councillor "I joined Sports Camp last year. I am unable to take part in this year sports camp as it crashes with my faculty camp whereby I am a programme head :(:(:(:( Although I would LOVE LOVE to join this year sports camp I really can't! Sports Camp was a one-of-a-kind experience for me because for the amount of money I paid for the camp, I got a lot more than what I expected!! Some of the memorable experiences were the ZOVB ball and cable skiiing activities- all of which I could not have managed to do if not for Sports Camp! Oh how i wish i can join back again! -Carin Siow, freshmen of Ang Kong Kia Red House 2009 "I didn't even know as a freshmen you have to join camps to know friends! It was only when my friend told me that if you do not join camps you would be friendless in uni THEN i panic! I am so happy Sports Camp accepted me as a freshmen last year! EVEN worst I am in FASS, it is even harder to make friends without joining camps and we do not have a fix class etc. Let's just say I had the most wonderful time with my Sports Camp OG last year, GREEN HOUSE FTW!!!!! That's why I decided to join back this year :D" -Kah Hwee, Sports Camp Best Freshie 2009, Deputy Project Director of Sports Camp 2010 "I graduated from NUS in the year 2009 with a lot of fond memories from Sports Camp. I never joined as a freshmen :( Throughout NUS life, I have always heard alot of hype about Sports Camp from various friends and it always seem to be the 'IT' camp for NUS. Curious as I was, I decided to join the organising comm in 2008 as treasurer. And I never regret it since :) I enjoyed organising 2008 and decided to challenge myself once again. I was Deputy Project Director for Sports Camp 2009 and it was a blast. The amazing thing about Sports Camp is that it never ever bores you. Take it from me, being in the camp for 2 years I have seen it all BUT being a graduate from NUS, I have seen EVEN more, and trust me, when I say Sports Camp is a very fun camp, I mean it !" -Kynneth Chang, Treasurer 2008, Deputy Project Director 2009 Wednesday, August 11, 2010, 4:01 AM

NUS Students’ Sports Club Into its 31th year and running since its inaugurate in 1979, the NUS Students’ Sports Club has been enriching the NUS student population with an array of sporting activities and as a mean to supplement their campus lives. Our goal to foster a healthy lifestyle and community attachment through sports goes hand in hand, being a constituent club under the NUS Students’ Union. Codify under Land Sports, Water Sports, Indoor Sports and Martial Arts, 29 member clubs make up the NUS Students’ Sports Club. Besides our campus activities, we are also enthusiastic in pushing this sporting spirit towards the general public. Over the years, we had spearheaded numerous Sports Club Projects which had grown to become trademark events even in the eyes of the public, amongst which are the NUS Triathlon, NUS Biathlon, and more recently RunNUS. These events had seen participation not only from the NUS community but also from tertiary institutes and participants throughout Singapore and beyond! Despite our current achievements, the NUS Students’ Sports Club will continue to strive for improvement and excellence in achieving our mission. NUS Sports Camp Organising Committee 2010 The Sports Camp Organising Committee is made up of 4 cells (Admin, Programmes, Publicity, Marketing), directed by 2 Project Directors and advised by 1 members of the NUSSSC Executive Committee and together form a strong team of 29 very enthusiastic individuals who are all geared up to make the best camp in NUS!
